Invisalign® (Clear Aligners) in Hobe Sound, FL

Invisalign aligners are continuing to gain popularity among our clients here at DiMeo Family Dental. They are also referred to as clear aligners. They are an alternative to teeth braces. Invisalign aligners, as the name suggests, are invisible devices that are attached to misplaced teeth to align them properly. Let’s be honest. Nobody loves to smile in public with metal braces on their teeth. They are usually not aesthetically appealing. Children and teenagers are beginning to dislike metal braces as well.

Invisalign aligners are used to treat teeth misplacement cases such as overbites, underbites, crowded teeth, crossbites, open bites, and gap teeth. Our dentist use the most-modern equipment and standard procedures to create Invisalign aligners for your teeth.

How Do Invisalign® Aligners Work?

Invisalign placement begins with a consultation with our dentist. Our dentist will examine your teeth and determine the extent of displacement, as well as map out how the teeth should be positioned. They will then come up with a treatment plan for you. Digital scans and intraoral cameras allow our dentist to take you through the process. You’ll get to see and agree with our dentist what your new smile should look like after the treatment.

The next step is to make the Invisalign aligners. Invisalign aligners are custom-made for each patient. Invisalign aligners are made with a clear polyurethane plastic material. Our dentist will take impressions or 3D images of your teeth and gums and send them to a lab so that Invisalign aligners can be made for you.
Once the Invisalign aligners are ready, our dentist will invite you in for a fitting procedure. The Invisalign aligners are fitted in such a manner that they apply pressure on the teeth towards the direction in which they should move. They need to be adjusted from time to time to ensure they push the teeth into the right positions.

The treatment duration usually depends on how far the teeth have to move. It could take anywhere from 6 to 15 months to move a set of teeth. Each Invisalign has to be worn for a minimum of 22 hours in a day for best results.
You’ll need to take them off to brush your teeth and eat. Our dentist will help you come up with a schedule through which you’ll ensure you eat and brush your teeth as needed, and still have the aligners on for the required duration. There’s no problem with wearing the aligners while you sleep.

Are Invisalign® Aligners Expensive?

You’ve probably heard that Invisalign aligners are a very expensive treatment. That’s not entirely true. Invisalign aligners are a bit more expensive than braces, but not as much as some misconceptions try to paint it. You can pay for your Invisalign aligners using the different health payment and savings plans available to you. The benefits you get from Invisalign aligners are many.

Apart from the fact that they are invisible and won’t make your teeth look weird, they are also quite comfortable as compared to braces. They also align your teeth a lot faster.
